Also, I will do my best to distance students and provide the table space necessary if need be. I will not be wearing a mask.

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $20 per 2-1/2 hour session

This Open Studio time is for those who have attended some of my art classes and have attained knowledge and skills and that generally have the ability to work on their own. Students may work in the medium of their choice whether it is drawing or painting if they are somewhat proficient in that medium. During the time here, students work on individual projects and provide their own supplies. I will give advice when asked and don’t mind a bit, that’s what I’m here for! If you are a person that is proficient in a certain medium and have not taken classes from me you are welcome to come. This is an art escape time for YOU! I have heard my students say “This is my favorite time of the week!” That’s why we do this!

Regarding drawing… I believe that good drawing skills are a must if you want to be happy and accomplish a successful piece of art in any medium. These open studio sessions are a time to indulge in the act of improving your drawing skills. It is a time for those who have had some drawing experience (either in my Drawing Skills Drills class or previous drawing class from another instructor) to spend some time, explore, expand and become more proficient in drawing skills. You are free to choose your medium such as pencils, charcoal, colored pencils or pastel. You also have the choice to choose your subject. I will be here to give you some guidance through your chosen project. Bring a few photos of something you have been wanting to recreate or you can also choose from my reference file, we can even set up a small still life for you.

Regarding paintingI believe that good drawing skills are necessary if you want to accomplish a successful painting. If you have the desire, I believe you can and will help you along in your endeavor to create! Along with desire and as in anything worthwhile it takes work and patient persistance. I can encourage you through these times of challenge! But knowing the basics comes first. If you have not taken the basics, or if it has been a long time, please consult me and consider private lessons if you are new and would like to take on a new artistic endeavor.

This is an open studio, students come the weeks that they are able to. Jody may also need to take a Friday morning off and will let all attending know when she is unable to be in the studio.

Please contact me if you are interested in coming to Friday Morning Open Studio.

Students will bring their own supplies. Please contact me for a supply list. If needed, easels are provided in the studio.
